Damion first picked up a guitar when he was 12. He had picked it up after hearing a White Stripes song he liked and had wanted to learn. He learned the song in a couple of hours and was instantly hooked.
His first guitar was a JS-100 Ibanez Gloss Black. As Damion had become better in his ability to play his father had bought him an effects pedal board. This gave his music a wide diversity of styles and range.
When he was about 13 or 14 he had started to bring his guitar over to his different friends house and play music with them. After a couple of months they had formed a band (that settled on the name Strength of Youth). The band had played two gigs together over the years they were together, which involved them covering many 80s and 90s songs and playing some of their own music. After their second show though, the band slowly dissolved and decided to do there own things.
When he was 15 he started to take guitar lessons from a private instructor. This lasted for about a year, but he had to quit because his house was going through a remodel and his family didn't have enough time or money for the lessons any longer.
When Damion turned 16 he started going to a local community college through a post-secondary education program at his high school. The college happened to be near one of his band members house's so once a week after class he would go over to his house and playing music with him. This is when Damion began to start working on his drumming and piano playing, that he is still actively learning. When Damion was 17 he invested in Gretsch drum set and began developing his skills in drumming further.
Damion is now working on his upcoming album, not much is known about it yet but it should be awesome just like him. ;) The name of the album and the date it will be available for download on are still to be announced...
